LAYLIO TERMS OF SERVICE, DISCLAIMER & PRIVACY POLICY

Welcome to Laylio! We are excited to support you in your career transition and personal growth journey.

 

This Terms of Use & Privacy Policy outlines:

  1. The Terms of Service for participating in Laylio’s program.

  2. A Disclaimer to ensure transparency about what Laylio does and does not provide.

  3. A Privacy Policy explaining how we handle your personal data.

 

By accessing Laylio, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Laylio.

 

SECTION 1: TERMS OF SERVICE

 

1. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.

Laylio operates from British Columbia, Canada, and does not recognize foreign legal claims based on a participant’s residence. Any disputes will be resolved in Vancouver, BC.

 

2. ABOUT LAYLIO

Laylio is a personal growth and career transition support program offering meditations, structured exercises, and community engagement.

Laylio is NOT a substitute for:

  • Medical, mental health, financial, or legal services.

  • Job placement, career coaching, or guaranteed employment outcomes.

 

Participants are responsible for consulting their own licensed professionals for personal, legal, and financial decisions. Participation is voluntary, and results may vary.

 

3. PROGRAM PARTICIPATION & COMMUNITY CONDUCT

Participants agree to:

  • Engage respectfully.

  • Maintain confidentiality of shared experiences.

  • Follow Laylio’s Community Guidelines (see Section 8).

 

Laylio may remove participants violating these terms.

 

4. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS & SERVICES

Laylio’s program operates using third-party platforms to deliver content, facilitate discussions, collect feedback, and store materials. These include but are not limited to:

  • Mighty Networks – for program content, discussions, and community engagement.

  • Fillout (or similar survey tools) – for participant feedback and evaluations.

  • Gmail – for email communications.

  • Laylio’s Website – for program-related information.

  • Google Drive – for storing and sharing program materials.

By participating in Laylio, you acknowledge and agree to the Terms & Privacy Policies of these third-party services. Laylio is not responsible for the security, privacy policies, or data handling practices of these external platforms.

 

Laylio follows a data retention policy as outlined in Section 6: Data Retention & Research Participation, which governs how long participant-related data is stored, anonymized, or deleted. Participants may request data deletion by contacting laylio.co@gmail.com.

 

Security Considerations: While Laylio takes reasonable precautions to safeguard data within these services, participants should avoid sharing sensitive personal information (e.g., financial, medical, or legal documents) via third-party platforms unless explicitly required for program participation.

 

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) & CONTENT USE

A. Laylio’s Original Content & Ownership

All content provided by Laylio, including but not limited to meditations, videos, curriculum materials, program structures, guides, community discussions, branding, graphics, website content, and digital tools (collectively, “Materials”), is the original work of Laylio and is protected under the Copyright Act of Canada and applicable intellectual property protections. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of Laylio’s Materials is strictly prohibited.

 

Participants are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Materials for personal, non-commercial, and educational purposes only, subject to the following conditions:

 

Permitted Use:

  • View, download, or print Materials solely for personal use within the program.

  • Share insights from the program without copying or publicly distributing Materials verbatim.

  • Reference Laylio’s teachings with proper attribution (e.g., “Laylio 2025 Program Materials, used with permission”).

 

Prohibited Use (Without Explicit Written Permission):

  • Copying, distributing, reproducing, or modifying Laylio’s Materials.

  • Uploading any Laylio content to public forums, social media, or third-party sites.

  • Selling, sublicensing, or monetizing Laylio’s Materials.

  • Creating derivative works based on Laylio’s proprietary curriculum or frameworks.

  • Using Laylio’s branding, trademarks, or Materials to imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

Laylio reserves all rights not explicitly granted under this Terms of Use.

 

B. Third-Party Content & Attribution

Laylio may use third-party resources (e.g., images, quotes, research references, licensed content). Such content remains the property of its respective creators and is credited appropriately.

 

Participants may not:

  • Extract, copy, or distribute third-party content found within Laylio’s Materials.

  • Claim ownership or suggest Laylio grants broader rights over third-party materials.

C. Participant Contributions & Community Content

  1. User-Generated Content (Forum Discussions, Posts, and Contributions)

  • Participants retain ownership of their original contributions made in the Laylio community (e.g., comments, discussions on Mighty Networks).

  • By posting, participants grant Laylio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use their contributions for program development, community engagement, and educational purposes.

  • Laylio reserves the right to moderate, remove, or refuse any content that violates community guidelines.

  1. Testimonials & Feedback

  • Participants may voluntarily submit testimonials, feedback, or success stories about their experience with Laylio.

  • By submitting testimonials, participants grant Laylio a perpetual, royalty-free license to use their statements for program improvement, marketing, and promotional materials.

  • Laylio will not use identifying details (e.g., name, photos) without explicit participant consent.

 

If a participant later wishes to withdraw consent for testimonial use, they may request removal via laylio.co@gmail.com.

 

D. Violations & Enforcement

Laylio takes intellectual property protection seriously. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of Laylio’s Materials may result in:

  • Revocation of program access and removal from the community.

  • Legal action to enforce Laylio’s copyright and recover damages.

  • Monetary penalties as permitted under Canadian copyright laws.

6. DATA RETENTION & RESEARCH PARTICIPATION

A. Data Retention Policy

  • Personal Data (name, email, participation details): 6-12 months post-program/membership.

  • Engagement Data (session logs): 12-24 months.

  • Survey & Feedback Data: 24-36 months.

  • Anonymized Research Data: Indefinitely (fully de-identified).

 

Participants may request deletion at any time.

 

B. Optional Research Participation

  • Laylio may collaborate with researchers to study program effectiveness.

  • Research use of data will be fully anonymized.

  • Users may opt out at any time.

 

7. PROGRAM DURATION & POST-PROGRAM ACCESS

  • The 30-day program is available during the scheduled session.

  • Post-program access is limited and will be discontinued after a set timeframe.

  • Once access is removed, the program cannot be accessed again unless otherwise offered.

 

8. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Laylio is a space for mutual support and respect. By participating, you agree to:

 

  • Respectful Communication – No harassment or inappropriate behavior.

  • Confidentiality – Respect others’ privacy. No sharing personal stories, screenshots, or recordings without consent.

  • Constructive Engagement – Keep discussions positive and supportive.

  • No Selling – We understand the desire to offer services after a layoff. The Ask & Offer space is for freely sharing help, insights, and resources—not direct sales.

  • Give & Receive – If you’re asking for support, consider paying it forward by offering insights, skills, or encouragement.

  • Follow Program Guidelines – Adhere to Laylio’s structure and moderator guidance.

  • Report Concerns – If something feels off, let a moderator know. We take safety seriously. 

  • Together, we create a space where everyone can connect, grow, and move forward.

 

Moderators reserve the right to remove content that doesn’t align with community guidelines. Violations may result in a friendly reminder to honor these Community Guidelines, a formal notice as a second reminder and removal from the program if behavior continues. By participating in Laylio, you commit to upholding these guidelines and fostering a safe, positive, and supportive community.

 

SECTION 2: DISCLAIMER

1. No Professional Advice

Laylio does not provide medical, financial, or legal advice. Participants should consult their own professionals for these services.

 

2. No Guarantee of Results

  • Laylio does not guarantee job placement or financial success.

  • Outcomes vary by individual.

 

3. Assumption of Risk

Participants assume all risks associated with meditations, exercises and discussions.

  • Activities may bring up emotions, and participants are always free to skip any exercise.

  • Laylio is not liable for emotional, career, or financial impacts.

 

SECTION 3: PRIVACY POLICY

Laylio is committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring transparency in how we collect, store, and use it. By participating in Laylio, you agree to this Privacy Policy, which outlines:

 

1. How We Use Data

  • Laylio collects and processes participant data to:

  • Deliver and improve the program experience

  • Analyze engagement and participation trends

  • Conduct optional anonymized research on program effectiveness

  • Communicate with participants about program updates and relevant opportunities

  • Laylio does not sell personal data or share it for advertising purposes

 

2. Data We Collect & Store

Laylio may collect:

  • Basic Personal Information: Name, email address, and participation details

  • Engagement Data: Session attendance, activity participation, and responses to exercises

  • Feedback & Survey Responses: Voluntary testimonials, feedback, and survey data

  • Community Interactions: Posts and discussions in Mighty Networks

  • Technical Data: Basic website analytics (e.g., page visits, no personal tracking)

  • Providing survey responses, testimonials, or discussion posts is optional, and participants may choose not to share this data

 

3. Third-Party Services

  • Laylio uses third-party platforms to deliver content and store data, as outlined in Section 4: Third-Party Platforms & Services

  • Laylio does not control the privacy policies or security practices of these platforms

  • Participants should review third-party Terms & Privacy Policies before engaging with external services

 

4. Data Retention & Security

Laylio follows a structured data retention policy, as outlined in Section 6: Data Retention & Research Participation

  • Participants can request deletion of their data at any time by contacting laylio.co@gmail.com

  • While Laylio takes reasonable security measures, no system is 100% secure—participants should avoid sharing sensitive personal data (e.g., financial or legal documents)

 

5. User Rights Under Canadian Law

Participants in Laylio have the following data rights under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA – Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act):

  • Access: Request a copy of the data Laylio has about you

  • Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate or outdated data

  • Deletion: Request removal of personal data

  • Opt-out of Research: Participation in research studies is voluntary, and users can withdraw at any time
